Offshore Permitting & Regulatory Support

Orbis excels in providing a high quality and comprehensive range of permitting and regulatory support, often under tight timescales, to operators working on the UKCS.  We have a good working relationship with OPRED and statutory consultees, including JNCC, Cefas and Marine Scotland.

Orbis also offers seconded HSE Advisors to support operators in-house and can assist with the development of project HSE documentation including HSE Plans, Emergency Response Documents and Management System Interface Documents (Bridging Documents).

We have extensive knowledge of the UK Energy Portal Environmental Tracking System (PETS) and have complied numerous Drilling, Production, Well Intervention, Pipeline, Decommissioning and Standalone Master Application Templates (MATs) and supporting Subsidiary Application Templates (SATs), including:

  • Directions under the EIA Regulations
  • Chemical Permit
  • Consent to Locate
  • Oil Discharge Permit
  • Marine Licence
  • Application to carry out a Marine Survey
  • Disturbance Licence for European Protected Species

For chemical risk assessments, Orbis uses the CHARM (Chemical Hazard Assessment and Risk Management) model to provide a quantitative assessment of the risks posed by chemicals discharged in surface waters.  For subsea discharges, Orbis uses the Osbourne-Adams assessment tool.

Orbis also offers seconded HSE Advisors to support operators in-house.
